Initiatives in Each Country and Region
Participation in the Welcome Sea Turtles Clean-Up Operation
The Welcome Sea Turtles Clean-Up Operation is a coastal cleanup activity held by the city of Hamamatsu, Japan. The objective of this event is to maintain the beautiful, sandy beaches and create the type of pristine environment necessary for loggerhead sea turtles to lay their eggs. Loggerhead turtles are designated as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Crestec has been a regular participant helping to protect the local seaside since 2012.
Suzhou Crestec Company Farm Initiative
Suzhou Crestec leases approximately 15,000 m2 of fallow land in Suzhou City to cultivate organic, pesticide-free vegetables. Eating locally harvested crops in the company cafeteria reduces the environmental impact associated with transportation. Suzhou Crestec also practices circular agriculture by utilizing cafeteria waste as fertilizer. Furthermore, by providing a portion of the farm as a site for the tree-planting activities of other companies, this site contributes to protecting biodiversity and reducing greenhouse gases.
